Marcy Thompson
Writer. Speaker. Woman of faith.
Marcy Thompson didn't set out to write a book. She set out to survive.
After years of navigating loss, broken relationships, and seasons of deep spiritual doubt, Marcy found herself at a crossroads — either let the weight of her story define her, or let God redefine it. She chose the latter. Built Not Broken was born from that choice.
Marcy writes with the kind of honesty that only comes from having lived through the hard parts. She doesn't offer easy answers or tidy resolutions. What she offers instead is something far more valuable: the truth that God is still at work, even when — especially when — life feels like it's falling apart.
Her story
A faith journey in four chapters
Early life
Raised in a faith-filled home in the Midwest, Marcy grew up with a deep love of Scripture — and an equally deep set of questions she wasn't sure she was allowed to ask.
The breaking
In her thirties, a series of personal losses and life upheavals shook the foundations of everything she thought she knew about faith, identity, and purpose.
The rebuilding
Through prayer, community, and the slow work of healing, Marcy discovered that the cracks in her story weren't signs of failure — they were the very places where light got in.
The calling
What began as personal journaling became a message she couldn't keep to herself. Built Not Broken is the result — written for every woman who has ever felt too broken to be used by God.
I wrote this book for the woman who is sitting in the rubble of her own life, wondering if God has forgotten her. He hasn't. And I know because I was her.
